Clippers continue road trip vs. Wizards

Basketball Betting Lines

01/31/2009 - (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - The lowly Los Angeles Clippers resume a season-long, seven- game road swing in the nation's capital on Saturday when they face the hapless Washington Wizards at the Verizon Center.

The Clippers lost the opener of their trek in Cleveland on Friday when Zydrunas Ilgauskas had 20 points and 11 rebounds in his return to the court, as the Cavaliers downed Los Angeles, 112-95, to stay undefeated at Quicken Loans Arena.

Ilgauskas had missed the last 13 games because of a small fracture in his left ankle, but was sharp in his first game back, making 10-of-16 field goals. LeBron James had a team-high 25 points to go with seven rebounds and six assists for the Cavaliers. Cleveland improved to 22-0 as the host this season, matching a franchise record for consecutive home wins, which the club set in the 1988-89 campaign.

Eric Gordon had 27 points and seven rebounds for the Clippers, who have lost four in a row and six of seven. LA has two wins in its last 20 games, and hasn't won back-to-back contests since a three-game streak from December 12-16.

Steve Novak scored 19 in the Clippers' loss.

LA, which is a miserable 5-16 on the road, will also travel to Miami, Orlando, Memphis, Atlanta and Charlotte on its trek.

The Wizards, who are embarking on a five-game homestand, lost their fifth straight in Philadelphia on Friday when Andre Iguodala scored 10 of his 20 points over the final five minutes to help secure a 104-94 76ers win against Washington.

Antawn Jamison logged game-highs of 25 points and 15 rebounds for the struggling Wizards, who fell to a dismal 3-21 on the road this season and remain firmly entrenched in the Southeast Division's cellar with a 9-37 overall mark.

Caron Butler scored 20 with five assists, while both Dominic McGuire and Javaris Crittenton achieved career-highs in points with 16 and 15, respectively, in a losing effort.

Washington, which is 6-16 at home this year, will also host Memphis, New Jersey, Denver and Indiana on its residency.

The Wizards have won six of their last seven at home against the Clippers.

MySportsbook.com refunds all bets on Oakland, Green Bay and Tampa Bay from NFL week one.

(September 14) – Week one of NFL action saw three teams go scoreless for the first time since 1977.  Another four were unable to get a touchdown and almost half of the underdogs covered the spread. Those three teams saved bettors at MySportsbook.com from losing out completely, thanks to the company’s unique NFL Shutout Rule -- which ensures that if the team you backed goes scoreless, your wager is refunded.

Sportsbook refunded tens of thousands of dollars to customers who bet on Oakland, Green Bay and Tampa Bay, the three teams that stunk up the field so badly that their fans and backers never had a chance to get up from their couches and cheer.  In the spirit of the low scoring start to the season, odds makers at the world’s largest online sportsbook and casino have set odds on how many total shutouts there will be this season.

MySportsbook.com has posted updated sports betting lines for week two of the season.  Ben Roethlisberger’s health status is still questionable, so Willie Parker will try to lead Pittsburgh again as they travel to Jacksonville as a one point favorite.  After beating up on his little brother last week, Peyton Manning will look to lead the Colts to victory against Houston. Indianapolis is a whopping 13.5 favorite in the match-up.

Seattle, last year’s highest scoring team, showed the power of their defense with their gritty 9-6 win in Motown over the ravenous Lions.  They take their act back home to the comforts of Qwest Field where they will face the resurgent Arizona Cardinals.  The Seahawks are favored by a touchdown.
